Easter Break

We had a lovely skills share session just before we broke up for Easter. Gwyneth showed us how to do a couple of different sheesha techniques which are great for embellishing. Sorry no photos as I was too busy having a go to take any, but you can follow this link to the Joyful Abode blog for a tutorial to see one of the techniques Gwyneth covered.

It was a really pleasant and relaxing session and we all had a go with Gwyneth checking on us regularly to make sure we were managing OK.
It was a little oasis of stitching calm, with the occasional giggle as people shared stories and made jokes. The thought of tearing along to the group straight after a full day's work can be really quite daunting sometimes, but I know that if I make the effort my head will soon clear of work worries, and all those busy thoughts will melt away, much more so than if I'd have gone straight home.

No such 'fix' for me this week though as we are closed for Easter on Thurs 4th, but we are back as usual from the following week onward. In April we are going to focus on pieces for our forthcoming exhibition at Swansea Grand in August, so bring along any projects you have on the go, or need help bouncing ideas around for new ones, or indeed have finished and want some feedback or help with choosing a name etc.

We still have some spaces left for the April Workshop with Enid Davies - book now to avoid disappointment
